Monika Jacobson, RDN joins the team at The Prevention Center as Director of Lifestyle Health. She has over 15 year’s experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and helping people change their lives through preventative measures and avoid disease. After graduating from Washington State University with her degree in Dietetics, Monika moved to the Seattle area where she worked as a RDN in a wide variety of settings including 20/20 Lifestyles-a metabolic weight loss program at The Pro Sports Club in Bellevue, Washington, PowerBar-where she educated endurance athletes on the power of proper sports nutrition, Arivale-a scientific wellness program in Seattle centered around genetics and biomarkers and founded by the world-renowned Dr. Lee Hood, and most recently for Gennev-a menopause virtual clinic where she worked with women and people born with ovaries to thrive in all stages of menopause. Since returning to Spokane in 2016, her home town, Monika founded her business Eat Move Thrive-Spokane where she specialized in preventative health related to cardiovascular disease, women’s health, weight management, sports nutrition and most importantly making healthy food taste amazing!

Her philosophy around nutrition is that all foods can be eaten in moderation, and she practices what she preaches (she says to never trust a clinician who labels chocolate, coffee or wine as “bad”). Monika lives just outside the city on a little slice of heaven where she loves to garden, raise chickens and cook up a nutritious meal with her husband Ryan and two school-aged children. She believes that regular movement keeps her head on straight, her heart full and her body happy too. You may find her running through the streets of Spokane, hiking the trails nearby, riding her Peloton or enjoying a local yoga class. She has big plans for The Prevention Center and is absolutely delighted to be a part of the team.
