Care that extends beyond traditional healthcare.

A coordinated team working as one.

Your care doesn’t sit with one person, one specialty, or one visit. It starts with advanced testing to understand your individual risk—then extends into a coordinated plan built around you. Guided by the BaleDoneen Method, our team looks at the full picture of heart and brain health, not just symptoms. From nutrition and lifestyle guidance to ongoing support, every part of your care is connected and working together over time.

Dr. Amy Doneen, DNP

Fun fact: Coming soon

I started the Prevention Center with one specific goal in mind: place the needs of the patient first.  I am proud of my team of like-minded individuals who also love to learn, nurture, and genuinely care for each other and our patients.

Dr. Brea Seaburg, DNP

Fun fact: I have been skiing since I was three years old. I now enjoy winter weekends most when at the mountain with husband and kids!

My favorite thing about working at The Prevention Center is the privilege of time. It is such a gift to be able to spend far more than 15 minutes truly getting to know my patients, their stories, their families, and their goals.

Monika Jacobson, RDN

Fun fact: If I had to pick a new job, I'd go with barista, spreading joy one cup of coffee at a time. Preferably someplace warm, sunny, and near water.

As our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Director of Lifestyle Health, prevention is truly my passion.  I love blending our patients' scientific data with their day-to-day for a "whole person" approach to preventative care.

Dr. Pierre Leimgruber, MD

Fun fact: (We are waiting on Pierre's version of his fun fact so we'll share one of ours in the meantime: Pierre is one of the most photogenic people we know.)

After 35 years of working  as an interventional cardiologist, I always wondered, “Wouldn’t it be easier if we could prevent patients from ever needing a stent in the first place?” Being able to do so here is a true gift.

Our vision

Change preventative medicine for a lifetime.

Our mission

We integrate science, compassion, and personalized care to each patient, ensuring optimal systemic, heart, and brain health for a lifetime. Our team is 100% committed to your success in health and, life.

More than clinical. It's deeply personal for us too.

This work is personal for our team. For some, it comes from firsthand experience as The Prevention Center patients. For others, it’s a deep belief in doing care differently. Together, it shapes a level of attention, empathy, and consistency you can feel.

Dinah, MA

Fun fact: The cat is out of the bag. I have a degree in Theatre and Dance and a minor in Spanish.

We walk the walk. I say this often to our patients and can back it up as medical assistant and as a patient of The Prevention Center.

My obsession with finding delicious gluten-free recipes keeps me busy and my family full at our frequent gatherings. As we like to say, "keep looking up" in all we do.

Mel, RN

Fun fact: I’m solar powered, thrive in the sunshine, and am always up for being active and trying new things!

As a former Emergency Room nurse, I’m passionate about helping people stay healthy and prevent illness. I love bringing that diverse clinical experience to The Prevention Center clinic, and the time afforded to dig into each patient's care.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, kids, and friends.

Kayla, RN

Fun fact: I have a penchant for pursuing new hobbies and becoming impressively mediocre at them all.

In my role, I blend nursing knowledge with my interest in encouraging people to invest in their health, mental well-being and overall quality of life. I value growth and pushing through self-imposed limitations.

Beyond work, I enjoy athletic ventures, beach reads and snuggling my kittens.

We wrote a cookbook.

What happens when two colleagues find themselves constantly exchanging recipes and modifying them for more balanced eating that also supports preventative health? A co-authored cookbook is born. Check out The Balanced Plate by Monika Jacobson, RDN and Brea Seaburg, DNP. Your tastebuds and satiation will thank you, repeatedly.

Supporting your care, every step of the way.

From your first call to every follow-up, this team keeps your care organized, responsive, and easy to navigate. They ensure nothing is missed and everything stays connected along the way.

Kim, Patient Care Coordinator

Fun fact: If I didn’t already have the best job ever at The Prevention Center, I would love to have a neighborhood bakery.

Everyone brings a unique background to our team. I love seeing us give our best collectively each day because we want our patients to feel heard.

From "teaching" my 5 young grandkids to bake to surgical mission trips to South America, I stay busy and grounded outside of the office too.

Karen, Office Manager

Fun fact: I love trying and sharing new recipes with our Prevention Center family. I'm known for several winners, including a delicious Instant Pot Pho.

We see patients at varying stages of their journey and with that, varying feelings. Some that are terrified. I love being part of a team that provides reassurance.

Away from the office, you'll find me hiking and kayaking often with a big yellow lab, Albi Jane, guiding our adventures on land and water.

Ellen, Front Office

Fun fact: The coolest place I’ve traveled to is New Zealand. I’d go back in a heartbeat given the opportunity!

Whether it's scheduling an appointment or relaying messages for our patients, I value being a part of their health care journey with The Prevention Center.

Outside of workday, you'll find me biking through the woods while reading a book, playing ping pong, and eating cookies.

Our medical assistants help our providers offer the best care to prevent heart attacks and strokes

Kathleen, Patient Care Coordinator

Fun fact: I recently retired after 26 years from Spokane County Fire District #8 as an EMT and Support Services volunteer.

My first experience with The Prevention Center was as a patient.  When the opportunity arose, I happily became a part of a compassionate group of professionals doing amazing, pioneering work in the realm of Medicine 3.0.

My day starts with a good cup of coffee and my favorite comics – Garfield, Baby Blues, Pickles, and Family Circus.

Karen's famous Instant Pot Pho

ICYMI, Karen, our Office Manager, loves trying recipes at home and testing them with our team. Here's one of many winners adapted slightly from Plating + Pairings. Karen says "remove skin from chicken" thighs and you're good to pho. (It's gluten free too.)
